"In skydiving, you’re in a soaring craft. There’s no real effort involved to get up there. In BASE jumping, you’re always involved in bringing your own self up. So it’s not just the jump, it’s the whole adventure you put together. You see a cliff you’re into, you figure out how to get there. Is it a good spot to jump? Is there a good place to land? Can I do this safely? The risks are pretty obvious; BASE jumping is all about stacking the odds in your favor.
When you know your own limit and limits of your gear, it can take you amazing places to do amazing things. There’s stuff to jump off everywhere. If I go to Shimla, I’ll try to get hooked up with the local jumpers; Nainital, same thing. I did Mountains, Falls and Lakes in Kashmir. It's a good complement for travel: you get to see all the sights, literally from a different perspective.”
